Lucchini Alexandre

Alexandre Douet Poli is a young fisherman who, like all the fishermen of Corsica, practices several small trades. But "his speciality" is longline fishing, especially for tuna, which he also fishes with rods, and swordfish. He also uses pots to catch lobster and jars for octopus. These types of fishing are carried out close to the coast within 5 nautical miles. He practised his profession with his father, Jean Toussaint, himself a professional fisherman in Solenzara. All the fish caught is sold in the fish shop run by her mother, Cathérine, president of the association of fishermen's wives in Corsica. Today, Alexandre is working on a restaurant project using only products from his own catch. The ittitourism framework (following the example of Italy) would be a great opportunity for him. Otherwise, he could open his own restaurant, but this would not be in line with the principles of diversification of fishing desired by France and the European community.
